I don't know what's going on anymore. The Pitcher Inn wasn't offering much money. Dan and I spent some time yesterday discussing what we want to do. The gist was that we're mostly happy here, and it's better to stay until something he's sure of comes along. And there's still the possibility that the Lodge will rehire him in the spring, so we're fine waiting.
Then, at 9:00 pm while he was browsing for other chef jobs, he found a posting for his old job at the Lodge. They're looking for an Exec Sous and didn't call him first. WTF.
Random stuff no one but me really cares about.

WTF is right? What are you going to do??? Call them!
WTF is right! That is horrible. And such a slam. I hope it was just a technicallity and they had to post it but will contact Dan soon. It could have just been an oversight. Please keep us informed. PS. We LOVE our knife and cutting board. We, (well, really christy) uses it all the time. Good luck.
Turns out it was some complicated Visa issue that actually involved a chef working in New Mexico. I guess they have to post the job before they can get the renewal, and did it in the Burlington Free Press because that is where the company is headquartered. Don't know why it had LPL instead of the other Inn name, but at least it gave Dan a chance to talk to HR and keep his name in their minds.
Glad you liked the gift. You can never have too many chef knives.
