Ruff Ruff

What makes me think that I can go to the Humane Society and just browse? Certainly not when there is a new batch of about 10 five-month old labs waiting to come home. I stopped by with the kids on Saturday and decided this was a great chance to get the type of dog we want. Dan went back on Monday and reserved one for us. After she gets spayed this week, she'll be able to come home with us next week. The picture above is not necessarily Olive, which is the name we've settled on after going through a stunning run of bad name ideas. (Tootsie, Shadow, Bear) The trainer said that she's her favorite of the bunch, and should be gentle with the kids. We just have to agree to give her a safe crate to retreat to inside, and keep her on leash outside until she's at least a year

This means more trips to the hardware store to buy supplies, including a nylon crate, dishes, leash and toys. Claire is going to have to be taught that this fox is not hers.

Oh my goodness! How adorable. Olive is a lucky dog to become part of your family!

That's so fun, a family dog. But apparently I haven't spewed enough propaganda about the benefits of wieners :)
